Claus C. Simonsen

In 2014 Simonsen started his cooperation with Bruunmunch to create new products under the name Bruunmunch and Simonsen. The PLAYchair collection and STONE Coffee tables are the first results of this fruitful cooperation. Claus C. Simonsen is a licensed Architect from School of Architecture in Aarhus and has, for several years, designed buildings, in all scales, both in Denmark and abroad, mostly for Henning Larsen Architects in Copenhagen. He has however always been intrigued by furniture design and by establishing Generous Design he realised that potential. Claus C. Simonsen has designed furniture for brands such as; Normann Copenhagen, Softline and Eilersen and lamps for Frandsen Lighting.

The PLAYchair is a versatile Danish-designed chair crafted from sustainable, high-quality materials, suitable for use in the kitchen, living room, office, entryway, bedroom, or the contemporary home office.

Skilled artisans upholster the chair, meticulously selecting and hand-cutting the leather used for its covering. The shell is made of 12mm pressed FSC-certified beech veneer, padded with 20mm Oeko-Tex-certified cold-cured foam, ensuring exceptional seating comfort. The chair is clad in Oeko-Tex-certified protected leather, featuring a smooth, polished surface with a subtle, finely printed texture. This leather is water-resistant, resistant to dirt and stains, durable, and easy to maintain.

PLAYchair Counter

The PLAYchair Counter and Bar is a Danish-designed bar stool that is produced using sustainable quality materials in two seating heights, 65 cm and 75 cm. The stool has a light and elegant look that is perfect for the Nordic style.

The stool is upholstered by skilled craftsmen who carefully select and hand-cut the leather used for the upholstery. The shell is made from 12 mm shape pressed FSC certified beech veneer, upholstered with 20 mm Oeko-Tex certified cold cured foam, providing excellent comfort while sitting. The stool is covered with Oeko-Tex certified protected leather, which has a smooth, polished surface with a subtle fine-printed texture. The leather is water-resistant, dirt-resistant, stain-resistant, durable and easy to maintain. The frame is made from 16 mm powder-coated steel.
